Chessington World of Adventures

Chessington World of Adventures is a theme park that is situated 12 miles South of London. The park is owned by the Tusauds Group. Previously it was known as the Chessington Zoo, but in the year 1987 it was converted to the Chessington World of Adventures. It is one of the major amusement parks in United Kingdom and in the past few years the park authorities have been trying to make it more attractive for the families.

By car: Chessington is situated 12 miles from London on the A243, just 2 miles from the A3 and M25 (junction 9 or 10). Car parking is free
Nearest railway station: Chessington South Station - 10-minute walk
By rail: regular south-west train services run from Waterloo, Clapham Junction and Wimbledon. Take the train to Chessington South Station. The park is approximately 10 minutes' walk from the station
By bus: Chessington is served by a regular bus service. Take the 465 bus from Kingston to Chessington, or the 467 bus from Epsom to Chessington


The Chessington World of Adventures is divided into different sections. This is an area in the park, which is called Animal Land. This section of the park is composed of a wide range of animals including gorillas, the two tigers, meerkats, and monkeys. There is also a sea lion enclosure and Creepy Caves which houses reptiles. Land animals also have a large number of endangered species such as the California Sea Lion, Tiger Sumatra and Persian Leopard.

Beonoland is another area in the park, which is based on the Beano comic and has rides like Dennis's Madhouse, Roger Dodger's Dodgems and Billy's Whizzer. Forbidde Kingdom is an area that has Eygptian style tombs and houses two popular rides' Tomb Blaster "and Rameses Revenge. Dragons of the land is an area that is primarily devoted to extolling the many children and rides for children. Area that has also the Dragon's Fury, which is a spinning wild mouse style Russians. addition to these sections, there are other sections that include Market Square, Mexicana, Mystic East, Pirates Cove, Toytown and Transylvania.

These entire theme based sections in the park boast of a number of thrilling and adventurous rides. The park is home to some of the most spine chilling and hair-raising rollercoasters in the country and also in Europe. Here you can check out rollercoasters like Vampire, Dragons Fury, Rattlesnake and Runaway Train. The park also boasts of other thrill rides that include Rameses Revenge, Black Buccaneer and Billy's Whizzer and water rides like Dragon Falls and Imperial Leather Bubbleworks.


The park is also home to many refreshment stalls and restaurants where you can avail various delicacies and snacks. In the near future there are several plans regarding the renovation and expansion of the park.
